XLPE insulated power cables are superior in thermomechanicalproperties. electrical characteristics and chemical resistances.Theyare not only simple in construction and light in weight but also nolimitation is required to the difference of levelin installation along theroute. This kind of up-to-date cables is widely used in electrical power nets in cities, mines and factories.
The insulation of the cable-XLPE is manufactured byadopting a chemical or physical process of cross-linking of themolecular structure, During the process, the cross linkable insulationis transformed from itslinear chainstructure into a three-dimensional network structure owing to this substantive transformation, the thermomechanical propertiesofthe cableinsulation are greatlyimproved while its superior electricalcharacteristics remain unchanged.
The maximum permissible continuous conductor operatingtemperature of XLPE insulated power cables is 90ºC,which is higherthan that of paper,PVC,or PE insulated cables. The current ratings ofthe XLPE insulated cable further increase.
Application
XLPE insulated power cable has a number of advantages over paper insulated and PVC insulated cable. XLPE cable has high electric strength, mechanical strength, high-ageing resisting, environmental stress resisting aiti-chemical, corrosion, and simple construction, using convenient and higher operating of long term temperature. It can be laid with no drop restriction. Various of flame-retardant XLPE cable can be manufactured with three technology. The flame-retardant cable covers all kinds of low-smoke, halogen free, and non-smoke non-halogenated and three classes of A,B,C.
